Man crashes car into house after being shot in face in Riverview, JSO says

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting incident on Monday afternoon in the Riverview neighborhood on Fifth Avenue. Following the incident, the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department transported an adult man to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, having been shot in the face.

According to JSO, the victim was traveling in a car with another man and a woman to meet someone, although the reason for the meeting was not specified. Upon arriving at Fifth Avenue, the situation escalated as multiple individuals, armed with guns, opened fire on the vehicle.

In an attempt to escape the gunfire, the victim drove away but ended up crashing into a house. Residents in the area came to their aid, promptly calling the police. Fortunately, no one else was reported injured during the incident.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has initiated an ongoing investigation into the shooting.
