On Sunday morning at approximately 11:40 a.m., authorities from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to an incident on the Westside of Jacksonville, where a man was discovered with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The victim is currently in critical condition. According to officials, the altercation leading to the shooting occurred on North Davis Street between the victim and the suspect. The suspect fired one shot at the victim during the dispute. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that all individuals involved in the altercation have been located, and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
In a separate incident earlier on Sunday around 5:30 a.m., another shooting occurred near Edgewood Avenue North on the Westside of Jacksonville. Authorities reported that a man sustained a single gunshot wound to the back while inside a residence. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the shooting transpired when an individual outside the house fired a single shot, which penetrated the residence and struck the victim. The injured individual received medical treatment at a hospital for injuries deemed non-life-threatening.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident, and the suspect remains unidentified. Law enforcement continues its investigation into both shooting incidents to gather further information and identify those responsible for the acts of violence.
