Shadday Family Office, based in Rome, Georgia, is expanding its car wash business, Big Dan’s Car Wash, into Jacksonville. The company plans to construct a 3,992-square-foot single-story car wash at 2688 Firestone Road in West Jacksonville, pending permit approval. The estimated cost of the project is $850,000. Big Dan’s Car Wash currently operates 16 locations in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina, with additional sites under construction and more planned in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina.
The new Jacksonville facility, located at northwest Firestone Road and Wilson Boulevard, will offer exterior express car wash services. Operating hours vary but generally span from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Big Dan’s Car Wash provides free amenities to customers, including air fresheners, microfiber towels, vacuums with wide and narrow heads, compressed air for tight spaces, glass and interior cleaner, mat washing stations, mat beaters, and a self-prep station at the entrance.
The company offers unlimited wash plans starting at $17.99 per month, with single wash prices ranging from $12 to $30. The website indicates that the Jacksonville location is opening soon. Big Dan’s Car Wash is named after its founder, Big Dan Shadday, and is part of the Shadday Family Office.
According to Car Wash Magazine, the Shadday Family Office, the principal owner of Big Dan’s Car Wash, has a history of over 20 years in the car wash industry, operating 20 car washes before launching the Big Dan’s brand in December 2020. The expansion plans, with an investment exceeding $100 million, were announced in October 2021, with the first phase including 15 locations. Pinnacle Financial Partners is leading the financing for the expansion, which involves private equity and lending from various institutions.
The Jacksonville property, situated at northwest Firestone Road and Wilson Boulevard, is owned by BD RC Jacksonville Wilson LP in Winter Garden. The property was purchased for $550,000 on October 2, 2023, from Waffle House Inc., which had acquired it for $365,000 in December 2017 from Fist Coast Energy L.L.P.
