Jacksonville man accused of manslaughter in 2023 shooting death of woman in Sherwood Forest

On Wednesday, a man was taken into custody by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, charged with manslaughter in connection to the tragic shooting death of a woman in April 2023 within the Sherwood Forest neighborhood.

The arrest stemmed from an incident on April 27, 2023, when multiple 911 calls reported a shooting at a residence on Norfolk Boulevard. Responding officers, alongside the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, found a 22-year-old woman at the scene who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention and transportation to a nearby hospital, she tragically succumbed to her injuries during surgery.

Among those who reported the incident was Adin Tyler Bonner, 28, who was subsequently identified as a person of interest. Bonner cooperated with authorities during questioning following the shooting.

Upon further investigation, it was revealed that Bonner was acquainted with the victim, although the exact nature of their relationship remained unclear. However, it was confirmed that they shared a child together.

According to details outlined in the arrest report, the events leading up to the shooting unfolded during a verbal altercation between Bonner and the victim on the night of the incident. The altercation escalated, resulting in the fatal shooting of the woman in the chest.
